Melbourne Mavericks Dominate Again – Match 2 Victory

The Melbourne Mavericks are proving that their first win wasn’t a fluke; it was a promise. This time, our heroes took on the Black Swans Mordi in a low-scoring but fiercely fought contest that was a masterclass in bowling and strategy. With our star bowlers practically hypnotizing the opposition, this match was less about hitting sixes and more about collecting wickets.

Our batting innings was a nail-biter, with the Mavericks managing a total of 56 runs. Tej Gandhi, our Best Batter for the day, stood tall and unshakeable, crafting a superb 23 runs and staying ‘not out’ to the very end. The real showstopper, however, was our Player of the Match, Tarun Rabari. He not only smashed a quick 12 runs, but then went on to absolutely dismantle the Black Swans’ batting lineup, taking an incredible 3 wickets for just 4 runs! That’s what we call a one-man wrecking crew.

Chasing a modest total, the Black Swans Mordi found themselves tangled in a web of Maverick bowling brilliance. Vinay T and Tatsat Brahmbhatt also joined the wicket-taking party, ensuring the opposition never got comfortable. The Black Swans were all out for a mere 30, a testament to our disciplined and lethal bowling attack.

This victory proves that the Mavericks are a force to be reckoned with, no matter the match conditions. We’ve shown we can dominate with the bat, and now we’ve proven we can dominate with the ball. Two matches, two wins, and a whole lot of swagger!

Player Highlights

  • Tarun Rabari: The ultimate all-rounder! 12 runs (6 balls) and a stunning 3 wickets for just 4 runs.
  • Tej Gandhi: Our ‘not-out’ hero, anchoring the innings with a solid 23 runs (13 balls).
  • Melbourne Maverick Masters' Final Score: 56/2 (5.0 Ov).

Melbourne Mavericks Announce Their Arrival at Hua Hin Sixes – Masters (2025)

The Melbourne Mavericks have officially announced their arrival at the Hua Hin Sixes - Masters (2025), not with a polite knock, but by kicking the door down in a blaze of glory! Leongatha Imperials, bless their cotton socks, chose to field after winning the toss. Clearly, they missed the memo that said: “Never provoke a Maverick with a bat in hand.”

Our batting lineup looked like a highlights reel on fast forward. Ashish “The Hurricane” Harsolia blew the opposition away with a whirlwind 35 runs off just 11 deliveries. His bat was swinging so hard, we almost needed air traffic control! Not to be outdone, Vinay “The Wall” T stood firm and stylish, crafting a fantastic 36 runs from 10 balls. These two were hitting boundaries like they were going out of fashion – which, let’s be honest, they never will!

Chasing a formidable 102, the Leongatha Imperials tried their best, but it was like trying to stop a runaway train with a strongly worded letter. They managed 69/3, with Mark Lafferty putting up a good fight. However, our Mavericks’ bowling attack, spearheaded by the multi-talented Ashish Harsolia who snagged a wicket, kept them under wraps tighter than a superhero’s spandex.

The scoreboard declared a resounding victory for the Melbourne Mavericks by 32 runs, and the MVP charts echoed the sentiment, with Ashish Harsolia leading the pack and Vinay T hot on his heels. It’s safe to say our first match was less of a game and more of a Maverick statement: We’re here, we’re slightly older (but wiser!), and we’re definitely here to win!

Stay tuned for more Maverick mayhem – we’ve only just begun!

Player Highlights

  • Ashish Harsolia: The man, the myth, the legend (of this match) – 35 runs (11 balls), 4 Fours, 2 Sixes, and 1 crucial wicket.
  • Vinay T: Our steadfast run machine – 36 runs (10 balls), 5 Fours, 2 Sixes.
  • Melbourne Maverick Masters' Final Score: A magnificent 101/3 (5.0 Overs).
